Cookies and analysis services

This cookie policy describes the different types of cookies that are used in connection with this website. It also explains how to accept or decline the use of cookies. This cookie policy is an integral part of our privacy policy.

1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit this website. Cookies collect and store information for a specific period of time in order to ensure the functionality of the website and to make your visit to us more comfortable (e.g. by remembering your preferred settings). Cookies also help us better understand how our visitors use this website. This allows us, on the one hand, to continuously improve the website and its user-friendliness and, on the other hand, to provide our visitors with more relevant information. Cookies may also be used to provide you with personalized advertising.

2. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE?

Required cookies (incl. functional cookies)

Required cookies make it possible for this website to function correctly and for your visit to be pleasant. For example, these cookies allow you to log in to your user profile, fill out forms or place products in your virtual shopping cart. You can set your browser so that these cookies are blocked or you are notified about these cookies.

Performance Cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and determine access sources in order to analyze and improve the performance of our website. They help us determine which pages are the most popular, which are the least popular, and how visitors navigate the site. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and processed on an anonymous basis.

Marketing cookies (including social media cookies)

These cookies may be set by our advertising partners and social media partners when you visit this website. These companies use cookies to profile your interests and show you relevant advertisements on third-party websites.

3. HOW LONG DOES A COOKIE LIVE?

A basic distinction is made between "session cookies" and "permanent cookies". "Session cookies" are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave the website. A "permanent cookie" remains for a period of time set for that particular cookie or until you deactivate the cookie. Permanent cookies are useful because they allow us to recognize you the next time you visit our website.

4. HOW CAN I MANAGE COOKIES?

You decide whether and how you allow the use of cookies.

On our website you have the option to deactivate performance cookies, as well as marketing and social media cookies. You cannot deactivate necessary (including functional) cookies on this page, as such deactivation can impair the basic functions of this website, and thus your user experience.

However, you can enable and disable all types of cookies in your browser. Most browsers are set by default to accept all cookies. However, you can make changes to the cookie settings. These can typically be found in the "Internet Options", "Tools" or "Settings" submenu of your Internet browser.  You can also look in the Help menu of your browser. The procedure for deactivating cookies can vary depending on your browser. We would also like to point out that setting changes only affect that particular browser. If you use different browsers or change your terminal device, we recommend that you make the settings again.

5. WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DATA IF I REJECT COOKIES THAT HAVE BEEN ACTIVE IN THE PAST?

If a cookie is deactivated, no new data will be collected by this cookie. The data collected before deactivation may be further processed by us. This is particularly the case with performance cookies, whose analysis data we may continue to process due to our legitimate interests.

SOCIAL PLUG-INS

Our website contains links to external social networks such as Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Whatsapp, Telegram, Viber and Twitter. You can also share the content of our website (housing and job ads only) on social networks.

This website uses a secure sharing tool that establishes direct contact between social networks and users only when users click on one of the corresponding buttons. This tool does not automatically transfer user data to the operators of such platforms. When users are logged in to one or more social networks, the use of social buttons on Facebook, Twitter, etc., results in an information window that allows the user to confirm the text before it is sent. The user can share the content of this website in social networks without their provider creating a profile of the users' surfing behaviour.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This website uses Google Analytics, a data traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse the use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

This website uses Google Analytics with the extension "anonymizeIP()"; IP addresses are therefore shortened before further processing in order to exclude a direct personal reference.

Only in exceptional cases is a complete IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. In addition, you can prevent data generated by the cookie (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing a browser plug-in from the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

GOOGLE ADWORDS CONVERSION-TRACKING

On our website we use the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and, in this context, conversion tracking. Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is placed on your computer. These cookies usually have a limited validity of up to 30 days (this period applies only to cookies placed via this website), do not contain any personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. If you visit the associated pages of our website and the cookie has not expired, Google and we may recognize that you clicked on the ad and were directed to that page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. As a result, there is no way that cookies can be tracked through AdWords customer websites. The information collected through the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were directed to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive information that personally identifies users. Processing is done in our legitimate interest in targeted advertising and to analyze the impact and effectiveness of that advertising.

You have the right to object to this processing of your personal data at any time. To do this, you can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate technical settings in your browser software. In this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. You can also deactivate personalised advertising for you in the Google advertising settings. In addition, you can deactivate the use of cookies by third parties by calling up the deactivation page of the Network Advertising Initiative at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de and implementing the further information on opt-out mentioned there. Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

Google has submitted to the Swiss/EU-US Privacy Shield.

GOOGLE reCAPTCHA

We use on our website Google reCAPTCHA of the company Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to prevent spam. Legal basis for the use is article 6 (1) f (lawfulness of processing), because there is a legitimate interest to protect this website from bots and spam. reCAPTCHA is a free service that protects websites from spam and abuse. It uses advanced risk analysis techniques to dsitinguish people and bots. With the new API, a significant number of your valid human users will pass the reCAPTCHA challenge without having to solve a CAPTCHA. We use reCAPTCHA to secure forms on the website.

When reCAPTCHA is used, data is transferred to Google, which uses Google to determine whether the visitor is a human being or a (spam) bot. Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

FACEBOOK PIXEL

Our website may use Facebook Inc.'s visitor action pixel to measure conversion ("Facebook").

This allows us to track the behavior of page visitors after they are redirected to the vendor's Web site by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized. This processing is in our legitimate interest.

The collected data is anonymous for us as the operator of this website, so we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the associated user profile is possible, and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data usage guidelines. This may allow Facebook to serve advertisements on Facebook pages and outside Facebook. This use of data cannot be influenced by us as the operator of this website.

You can disable the Custom Audiences remarketing feature in the Advertisement Settings section of http://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen . You must be logged into Facebook to do this. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable Facebook's usage-based advertising on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We review our privacy policy regularly and may change it at any time. Your continued use of our website and services will constitute your acceptance of these changes. We will notify you of any changes to our privacy policy in an appropriate manner.
